Have you heard about the proposed bill by Jay Rockefeller to give Obama control of the internet?

Jay Rockefeller proposed a 55 page draft allowing the president immediate control over making decisions in a cyber security emergency? Why would he ever need to be directly in control of the entire internet? I would much rather an expert in computers be in control of the Web if a cyber attack ever took place. Doesn't this just seem kind of odd or is it just me? Ding dong any one home? It's a law on the books From the Bush administration days that has a loophole that would allow any president to do so. I don't know where you get your information but one should have there facts right before you show the entire world how smart you are or are not! He does not need it, The Republicans created all the laws necessary to do every thing in that bill. And the NSA has the programs created by the Republicans that can shut down all Radio, Tv, and Satelite and landline comunication and the ability to shut down all Electrial substations and power plants in the USA and Canada. The NSA Made a deal with Microsft in March 2001 that had Microsoft including backdoors in ALL Microsoft Software including the encrytion products of Microsoft and ANY other encryption software that runs unencrypted on sceen and encrypts using Microsoft Protcols. The NSA could destroy this country from 2002 on and at any time since. All they need is the order.





And you Republicans left the laws on the books allowing a sitting President to shoot this country down. No one else to blame for that mess but Republicans.
For one thing.. this bill is not a new ';takeover';.. the president has ALWAYS had authority for martial law, if needed. ALL this bill does different is to clarify that the authority includes the internet.


As for an ';expert';... please.. AUTHORITY to control if cyberattacked, means that like any other President, he has authority to direct a ';general'; to do the actual work.


Anyone who thinks that the US isn't at risk of computer hacking/ attack, from OUTSIDE the country, is totally out of touch with reality. The point is to protect the national infrastructure, ie the banking system, utility grids, so forth. Those things get taken over.. they are not going to be looking to hurt the left or the right..they are out to harm all of America.


I beg of you. STOP LETTING the paranoia take over rational thinking.
Yes he should have the authority to direct our national security through the internet. We have had cyber attacks from overseas already and government depts. have been affected. Russia, China and others are working full time at trying to break into our national security offices and networks.





I`m sure he would have experts in cyber security doing that job! People can`t possibly think Obama himself would be doing it. It`s just idiotic to think that!
If you think that the high school kid who wiped a virus off your computer should be in charge of national security in case of a cyber attack, or that everyone can take care of their own, you couldn't be further from the truth. That kid downloaded all the porn off your computer and still watches it with all his buddies. `
Yeah.. step one in the plan to take over the country and shut us all up!
