Parental control in Norton Internet security 2008?

Can anyone tell me if the a.m. Security software does not have the parental control feature. Sometimes we are in embarassing situations when a pop up with adult viewing material comes up while the kids are watching something. Therefore I need to block some websites or have a parental control. I searched over the net for this feature. But it looks like it does not support this feature. Can anyone please suggest if I need to buy any additional software? Earlier I had F-Secure security software which had all these features that I wanted. We changed over to Norton because we felt F-Secure was slowing down the computer.Parental control in Norton Internet security 2008?
I may be mistaken because I only use Fire Fox browser and don't get any pop-ups. Adult content pop-ups shouldn't occur at all unless you are looking at, or have just looked at, adult sites. By the sound of it, you haven't.





In this case, I'd be concerned that I had a trojan/malware on my PC. The full Norton Suite doesn't always pick up everything. A Spybot Scan on my dad's PC found three spyware and a trojan that Norton had missed. Give Spybot a go and see if it finds anything. If you do try it, uncheck Teatimer and install. Update it and then click the immunise button until it shows '0 unprotected.' Now run a scan and allow it to fix any problems.





If you make FireFox your default browser, you can add Ad Block Plus. Pop Ups become just a bad memory. It's well worth the change and your kids won't be seeing anything unsuitable.

Try upgrading you browser. Use firefox as it will automatically block all pop ups and then you can decide if you want it opened. The parental control in norton is very good although it does slow down your computer a lot.
Norton is the worst anti-virus software ever. Try to use Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 or Bitdefender Total Security 2009
